Paint the Glen

Glen Rose's annual plein-air "Paint the Glen" paint out is an artist
competition.  Plein Air means "in the open," and is the act of painting
outdoors with the artist's subject in full view. Artists will paint in
designated areas around Glen Rose and up to three works can be
submitted for judging.  Cash prizes are awarded for first ($1,000),
second ($500) and third-place ($250) winners.  The events is
sponsored by the Somervell History Foundation and the Barnard's
Mill Art League.


The schedule for the two-day event is:


Friday, April 17

4 - 6 p.m.         Wine and cheese reception at the White Buffalo Gallery on the Square
                       (dining, hotels and B&Bs available)


                         Optional: Nocturnal paint (non-juried) on The Square


Saturday, April 18

7:30 a.m.           Registration –
                           $25 entry fee and artwork sold will be subject to 25% commission
                           (may have up to three canvases/papers stamped)


1 p.m.                Submission deadline


3 p.m.               Awards ceremony
